Frigate viewer can read logs exposing admin and camera credentials

Frigate is an open source network video recorder. In version 0.17.1, the GET /api/logs/{service} endpoint allows any authenticated user including the viewer role to download Frigate and nginx logs, exposing auto-generated admin passwords and camera credentials logged in request query strings and enabling viewer-to-admin privilege escalation. A fixed release has not been identified.

Frigate has cross-camera snapshot disclosure via unrestricted timeline IDs and missing authorization in /api/events/{event_id}/snapshot-clean.webp

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. In version 0.17.0, a low-privilege authenticated user restricted to one camera can access snapshots from other cameras. This is possible through a chain of two authorization problems: `/api/timeline` returns timeline entries for cameras outside the caller's allowed camera set, then `/api/events/{event_id}/snapshot-clean.webp` declares `Depends(require_camera_access)` but never actually validates `event

Authenticated Frigate users can read the full unredacted configuration via `/api/config/raw

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. In version 0.17.0, an authenticated non-admin user can retrieve the full raw Frigate configuration through `/api/config/raw`. This exposes sensitive values that are intentionally redacted from `/api/config`, including camera credentials, go2rtc stream credentials, MQTT passwords, proxy secrets, and any other secrets stored in `config.yml`. This appears to be a broken access control issue introduced by

Frigate has SSRF vulnerability in /ffprobe endpoint

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. Prior to version 0.16.3, the /ffprobe endpoint accepts arbitrary user-controlled URLs without proper validation, allowing Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks. An attacker can use the Frigate server to make HTTP requests to internal network resources, cloud metadata services, or perform port scanning. This issue has been patched in version 0.16.3.

Frigate Broken Access Control: Users assigned the viewer role can delete admin and other low-privileged accounts

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. In versions 0.16.2 and below, users with the viewer role can delete admin and low-privileged user accounts. Exploitation can lead to DoS and affect data integrity. This issue has been patched in version 0.16.3.

Frigate has insecure password change functionality

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. Versions prior to 0.17.0-beta1 allow any authenticated user to change their own password without verifying the current password through the /users/{username}/password endpoint. Changing a password does not invalidate existing JWT tokens, and there is no validation of password strength. If an attacker obtains a valid session token (e.g., via accidentally exposed JWT, stolen cookie, XSS, compromised devi

Frigate Affected by Authenticated Remote Command Execution (RCE) and Container Escape

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. Prior to 0.16.4, a critical Remote Command Execution (RCE) vulnerability has been identified in the Frigate integration with go2rtc. The application does not sanitize user input in the video stream configuration (config.yaml), allowing direct injection of system commands via the exec: directive. The go2rtc service executes these commands without restrictions. This vulnerability is only exploitable by a

Frigate Vulnerable to Arbitrary File Read via Export Thumbnail "image_path" parameter

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. Prior to 0.16.2, Frigate's export workflow allows an authenticated operator to nominate any filesystem location as the thumbnail source for a video export. Because that path is copied verbatim into the publicly served clips directory, the feature can be abused to read arbitrary files that reside on the host running Frigate. In practice, a low-privilege user with API access can pivot from viewing camera

In Frigate, Malicious Long Unicode filenames may cause a Multiple Application-level Denial of Service

Frigate is a network video recorder (NVR) with realtime local object detection for IP cameras. Below 0.13.2 Release, when uploading a file or retrieving the filename, a user may intentionally use a large Unicode filename which would lead to a application-level denial of service. This is due to no limitation set on the length of the filename and the costy use of the Unicode normalization with the form NFKD under the hood of `secure_filename()`.

Frigate unsafe deserialization in `load_config_with_no_duplicates` of `frigate/util/builtin.py`

Frigate is an open source network video recorder. Prior to version 0.13.0 Beta 3, an unsafe deserialization vulnerability was identified in the endpoints used to save configurations for Frigate. This can lead to unauthenticated remote code execution. This can be performed through the UI at `/config` or through a direct call to `/api/config/save`. Exploiting this vulnerability requires the attacker to both know very specific information about a user's Frigate server and requires an authenticated

Frigate reflected XSS through `/<camera_name>` API endpoints

Frigate is an open source network video recorder. Prior to version 0.13.0 Beta 3, there is a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in any API endpoints reliant on the `/<camera_name>` base path as values provided for the path are not sanitized. Exploiting this vulnerability requires the attacker to both know very specific information about a user's Frigate server and requires an authenticated user to be tricked into clicking a specially crafted link to their Frigate instance. Frigate cross-site request forgery in `config_save` and `config_set` request handlers

Frigate is an open source network video recorder. Prior to version 0.13.0 Beta 3, the `config/save` and `config/set` endpoints of Frigate do not implement any CSRF protection. This makes it possible for a request sourced from another site to update the configuration of the Frigate server (e.g. via "drive-by" attack). Exploiting this vulnerability requires the attacker to both know very specific information about a user's Frigate server and requires an authenticated user to be tricked into clicki
