WordPress Post Status Notifier Lite plugin before 1.10.1 contains a cross-site scripting vulnerability. The plugin does not sanitize and escape a parameter before outputting it back in the page. An attacker can inject arbitrary script in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site, which can allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. This vulnerability can be used against high-privilege users such as admin.

Impact

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to inject malicious scripts into the affected website, leading to potential data theft, session hijacking, or defacement.

Remediation

Fixed in version 1.10.1.
